I knew they used to stock large bottles before, but good lord. I'm trying to imagine what it was like to try and pour something out of those things when they were full.
I guess this is the pharmacy equivalent of "when I was a lad, I walked 4 miles up hill to school with no shoes and a peg leg!"

Ah yes, I had forgotten about those jugs! Glass too. If you were lucky you had a functioning plastic pump to use. If not, you just propped the jug on the crook of your elbow. You could try to balance the jug on the lip of the rx bottle, but that usually just resulted ina huge mess when the jug fell and dumped a gallon of sticky grape syrup on the counter. You need to rinse about 3 times to get that stick off the counter. Good times!
Reminds me of when I was cleaning out a lab once, and they had drugs (like cocaine,for rat experiments) that expired before I was born! The explosive ether crystals were fun, too.
